In a public gathering, Adityanath painted a stark contrast between his administration's work ethic and Yadav's, suggesting that the former is dedicated to the people, while the latter had little time for them.
Adityanath's critique was particularly harsh, painting a picture of a man who prioritized personal activities over public service. He described Akhilesh Yadav as 'Babua', a term seemingly used to mock his perceived lack of dedication to the people of Uttar Pradesh. According to Adityanath, Babua would wake up at noon, spend time at the gym, and then attend social gatherings, leaving little room for the public.
This personal attack comes as political parties gear up for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. Adityanath's comments are seen as an attempt to highlight the differences in governance style between the BJP and the Samajwadi Party, with the former being portrayed as more focused and dedicated to the state's development.
However, the criticism has also drawn attention to the BJP's own welfare schemes, which Adityanath claims could have been introduced earlier but were not. The Chief Minister's remarks also extended to the state's sugar industry, where he accused the opposition of shutting down mills and selling them at throwaway prices. He claimed that the BJP government is now working to restart these mills, highlighting a shift in policy direction.
